Um diese Entwicklung aufzuheben proklamiert Schiller die alles versöhnende Kraft der Ästhetik. Nur im ästhetischen Zustand, wenn der Mensch mit der Schönheit spielt, wie Schiller es nennt, werden die beiden antagonistischen Prinzipien „Gefühl“ und „Verstand“ miteinander harmonisch verbunden.
Diese Verbindung muss im idealen Staat realisiert werden.
Im Folgenden soll diese Philosophie Schillers möglichst kompakt zusammengefasst und erklärt werden.
